Multi-Trip Travel Insurance

Multi-trip travel insurance, otherwise known as annual travel insurance, is an insurance policy designed for people who make several trips in a year.

So whether you’re in a job that means you fly off to other countries a lot or you’re simply taking a year out and planning on seeing the world, then getting yourself covered with multi-trip insurance is definitely the way forward.

And this is where we come in. We can help you find the right type of annual multi-trip travel insurance for your trips and answer any questions you might have.

Who would benefit from multi-trip travel insurance?
In a nutshell, it would benefit frequent flyers or if you make several trips in a year. So if you’re making several business trips through work (which you’ll need to specify) or flying out regularly to see family or friends who live abroad, or perhaps you’re just planning on taking more than one holiday this year, a multi-trip holiday insurance policy could save you money, as opposed to taking out single-trip insurance each time.
And multi-trip insurance isn’t just for people flying out four or five times a year or more. Even if you’re making just a couple of trips this year, it’s still worth considering multi-trip holiday insurance because it could still be cheaper. Plus, it means you only have to fill out one form and make one payment. And that’s a time saver right there.

How many times can I go away on a multi-trip policy?
The beauty of multi-trip travel insurance is that there are no rules as to how many times you need to travel to qualify for it. That’s totally your call. If you’ll be making numerous trips, it’s advisable to double check the small print on your insurer’s policy though in case there is a maximum trip limit, as all policies vary.

Can I extend the maximum trip duration on my policy?

This depends on your age and the level of cover you’re going for. Typically providers of multi-trip travel insurance cover people aged 19-75, and the maximum trip duration is usually 35 days or 60 days, depending on the level you’re purchasing. The maximum duration for flyers aged between 66-75 is usually around 21 days
It can be a little tricky to get an extension. So insurers usually suggest you take out a single-trip policy to cover you if you need to stay longer than the time limits specified in your policy.

Are winter sports included within a multi-trip policy?

Some insurers will provide cover for winter sports or adventure sports within their multi-trip insurance policy, so you may be able to dust off those skis once you’ve got your insurance booked. We recommend you read through all your insurer’s policy so you fully understand the level of cover you’re getting.
